Logan Osborne is a continuing “miracle”
Defending champion Logan Osborne will have a significant anniversary Sunday during the second round of the 85th annual Evansville Courier & Press Men’s City Golf Tournament at Fendrich. Twenty four years ago, on Aug. 3 1990, Osborne nearly died. “When Logan was three months old he had to have open-heart surgery,” said his mother, Julie. “He almost died that first night. “But somehow he held on. One of the doctors said God wasn’t ready for him. Ever since he’s been our miracle.” Osborne showed the same resilience during Saturday’s first round at Helfrich, when he shook off two double bogeys and still tied for the first-round lead at 2-under par 69. Osborne is tied with Phillip Riggs, Dylan Meyer and 2011 champion David Mills. …Steve Ford…
